Linksys Wireless‐G Broadband Router
WPA Setup Instructions
Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar (preferebly on a computer wired to the router).
A login box will open and by default the username should be left blank and the password is "admin"
Click on the Wireless Tab and Select Manual. (Select Manual - only for model WRT54G2)
Rename the Wireless Network Name SSID "Linksys" to "(your choice name)".
Then click on Save Settings.
Click on Wireless Security tab. From the drop down list next to Security Mode, select WPA Personal.
Next click in the WPA Personal Key and type the password, (the password needs to be at least 8 characters or letters-case sensitive). Please write the password down or tape it to the router.
Click on Save Settings.
At this point you will need to connect to the wireless network from the network list on a wireless
computer. When you click on the network name and click Connect, it will prompt to enter a password.
Enter the password you setup and you will be connected to the network.
Note: You will only have to enter the password the first time you connect using that computer. The
computer will then store the password and automatically connect from then on.
